Jeff Whittle Elected to Pearcey Hall of Fame

Whittle Consulting proudly congratulates our founder, Jeff Whittle AO, on his election to the Pearcey Hall of Fame for a lifetime commitment to the ICT sector in Australia.

The award was officially presented to Jeff by Professor Jon Whittle (no relation), the Director of CSIRO's Data61, at an online Zoom event held by the Pearcey Foundation on November 25, 2020. This prestigious award recognises Jeff's inspiring legacy in the creation and development of the renowned Whittle mining optimisation software.

Each year since 1998. the Pearcey Foundation have elevated 3 people to the Pearcey Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame has been created in honour of Dr Trevor Pearcey, who led the team that designed and commissioned Australia's first (and the world's fourth) stored program digital computer. Named CSIRAC, this is now on display at the ScienceWorks Museum in Melbourne.

With this award Jeff is rightfully recognised as a leader amongst an impressive cohort of Australian ICT professionals, who have shaped the industry in Australia and around the world.

The process involved Jeff being voted by his peers to elevation to the 2020 Pearcey Hall of Fame. We congratulate Jeff on receiving this award, which is one of the most prestigious individual awards conferred within the Australian ICT sector.
