WHITTLE CONSULTING CASE STUDY – CONDOR GOLD, LA INDIA

The best way to explain the benefits of the Whittle Integrated Strategic Mine Planning approach is to look at examples of our project work. Since 1999, Whittle Consulting has a proven track record in mining optimisation and mine planning with many of the largest mining companies around the world, undertaken across all commodities and in all continents.

Whittle Enterprise Optimisation studies have consistently proven to significantly enhance the economics of mining projects and operations. The full effects of a Whittle Optimisation can be extraordinary. Whittle Consulting regularly achieves NPV increases from 5%-35%, and in many cases substantially more. These improvements to mine valuation occur even when other conventional mine optimisation techniques have already been applied. The Condor Gold, La India project is an excellent example of the benefits we provide to our clients.

CONDOR GOLD, LA INDIA - NICARAGUA

Whittle Consulting investigated strategic options to optimise the mine schedules to improve the mine valuation economics of the La India projects in Nicaragua. The Whittle Enterprise Optimisation (EO) study determined; an NPV increase of over 50%, an IRR average of 30%, payback on upfront capital costs between 2-3 production years, gold production increase of (on average) 22% for the first 5 years with sustaining cash costs remaining under US$700per oz gold.

“The results from Whittle’s enterprise optimisation across 4 production scenarios of Condor Gold’s La India Project in Nicaragua, resulted in an average increase of 51% in NPV, 20-25% increase in contained gold within pit shells and a 20% increase in the annual production ounces of gold during the first 5 years of the mine life….. The results have stunned us. They are far better than we thought they would be”. Mark Child, Chairman and CEO of Condor Gold plc.
