WHITTLE CONSULTING CASE STUDIES – ALLOYCORP MINING, AVANTI KITSAULT

The best way to explain the benefits of the Whittle Integrated Strategic Mine Planning approach is to look at examples of our project work. Since 1999, Whittle Consulting has a proven track record in mining optimisation and mine planning with many of the largest mining companies around the world, undertaken across all commodities and in all continents.

Whittle Enterprise Optimisation studies have consistently proven to significantly enhance the economics of mining projects and operations. The full effects of a Whittle Optimisation can be extraordinary. Whittle Consulting regularly achieves NPV increases from 5%-35%, and in many cases substantially more. These improvements to mine valuation occur even when other conventional mine optimisation techniques have already been applied. The Alloycorp Mining, Avanti Kitsault Project is an excellent example of the benefits we provide to our clients.

ALLOYCORP MINING, AVANTI KITSAULT – MOLYBDENUM, CANADA

Whittle Consulting undertook a Whittle Enterprise Optimisation (EO) study to improve NPV and provide validation of the Avanti Kitsault project in Canada. The new techniques and mine optimisation mechanisms determined by Whittle produced a 31.7% overall increase in NPV, above the best business case of the company. This significantly improved overall mine valuation.

“We should not change one part of the system without understanding the effect on the whole system. The engineering approach to difficult problems is to break them down into components and work on each part. What we need is a framework to put it all back together to achieve an integrated, holistic and complete view of the way we run our mining and mineral processing business.”  Gerald Whittle, CEO, Whittle Consulting
